USF MASCOT “ROCKY” SIGNS NEW BOOK FOR FANS

TAMPA , FL – OCTOBER 11, 2008 – Bucs and Bulls Heaven owner Jeff Fox is the author of a newly released children’s book, “Hello, Rocky!”  In the story, University of South Florida (USF) mascot Rocky D. Bull is born to Mr. and Mrs. Bull, both USF alumni.  Author Jeff Fox, illustrator Ed Hose and star of the book, Rocky D. Bull himself, will be autographing books today, October 11 from noon to 2 p.m. at Bucs and Bulls Heaven.  There is no fee for autographs.

Mascot Books, a licensed publisher, approached Fox with the idea because he is entrenched and an expert in the USF fan culture.

A graduate of USF (1975) himself, Fox said, “I wanted to put together a book that would have a meaningful message to children and fans of all ages. Encourage them to prepare themselves for college, chase their dreams and become a USF Bull just like Rocky.”

The book is illustrated by Fox’s niece, Ed Hose of Brunswick, Georgia.  Fox gave Hose hundreds of photographs he had taken of fans, campus landmarks and games to create accurate illustrations.
